History

The Gas Xchange

The Gas Xchange Ltd was created to address a clear gap in the fire safety market: the need for safe, certified, OEM‑compliant cylinders for fire suppression systems and the accompanying, 10 year hydrostatic testing to maintain such systems. Previously, offerings in this space lacked consistency, quality control and specialised expertise, particularly for environments where reliability is essential.

Our Foundation

The Gas Xchange brought together a team of experts with decades of collective experience in pressurised gas cylinder management. Their knowledge allowed us to offer services designed with a singular purpose, to deliver solutions that meet the most stringent industry standards and OEM specifications.

Our Approach

From its base in Alton, Hampshire, The Gas Xchange built a reputation for offering a full range of cylinder services nationwide, including:

  • First fills of inert and chemical agents to OEM standards
  • Service exchange cylinders held in large onsite stocks
  • Discharge refilling without subcontracting, ensuring quality control
  • Hydrostatic testing and certified refurbishment
  • Safe and compliant disposal of high‑pressure vessels
  • Dedicated ADR transport and bulk agent supply

These services ensured that clients could rely on quick turnaround times and robust quality assurance for all fire‑extinguishing cylinder requirements.

Recognising the strong alignment of values and service capabilities, The Gas Xchange was subsequently integrated into the PTESL Fire Suppression Systems supply chain. This now enables clients to benefit from a fully unified fire suppression and cylinder service model, combining engineering design, installation expertise and full cylinder lifecycle management under one organisation.
